Meet Our Staff

IMG has an exemplary team of board certified physicians and licensed nurse practitioners, and most have been working together here for years.  All of our providers regularly engage in continuing medical education to maintain their knowledge of the latest medical techniques and research.  Each is well versed in how the body evolves from young adulthood through the golden years, and how your gender and lifestyle history can impact your symptoms

Richard D. Glock, M.D.

Born in Louisville, KY and raised in West Virginia, Dr. Glock completed college at Michigan State University. He then attended West Virginia University for medical school and completed his residency at Jacksonville Health Education Programs (JHEP).

A specialist in geriatric medicine, Dr. Glock began his medical career when he founded IMG, Inc in 1976. His love of building patient relationships continues to this day and extends throughout the practice.

Dr. Glock likes to joke that in addition to speaking English, he's fluent in “Southern” and many are surprised to learn that he worked his way through college as a bartender and a cab driver.  An active outdoorsman, Dr. Glock enjoys golf, skiing and fishing. When relaxing indoors, he's not ashamed to admit that he watches whatever sports happen to be on TV.

 

Joseph T. Stepp, M.D.

Dr. Joseph Stepp was born in Bluefield, West Virginia and raised in Jacksonville, FL.  He remained in Jacksonville for both medical school and his residency, attending the University of Florida for medical school and completing his residency at Jacksonville Health Education Programs (JHEP).

Specializing in geriatric medicine, Dr. Stepp began practicing medicine when he joined us in 1979, and he continues to relish interacting with his patients and the wide variety of medical conditions he encounters at IMG.

In his spare time, you'll find him reading, swimming, playing with his dogs, or leading Bible study, just as he's done for over 25 years.  A happily married man, Dr. Stepp, along with his wife, has also led several couples' enrichment seminars throughout Florida.

 

Richard A. Grochmal, MD

A native of eastern New Jersey, Dr. Richard Grochmal is a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington DC. He completed his residency at Jacksonville Health Education Programs (JHEP).

Dr. Grochmal began practicing medicine in 1980 and joined IMG in 1986. He speaks some Spanish and looks forward to spending time with his patients. While he was sad to see Fox's action-packed series, 24, come to an end, Dr. Grochmal still takes pleasure in relaxing in the mountains, listening to rock music, and cooking.

 

David N. Carter, MD

Dr. Carter was born just north of the state line in Valdosta, GA.  He remained in Valdosta, attending the state college there, and then completed medical school at the Medical College of Georgia.  In 1994, after completing his residency at the University of Florida Health Sciences Center in Jacksonville, he joined IMG, and has been here ever since. He truly enjoys contact with his patients and it shows in his interactions with them.

In his spare time, Dr. Carter engages in reading all types of books, as well as fishing, hiking, and golf.  He also loves dogs and his residence is currently home to 3 of them.

 

Ilene S. Levenson, M.D.

Dr. Levenson graduated with high honors from the University of Florida at age 19 and attended medical school at the University of Florida, as well.  She completed her residency at Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta, where she served as Chief Resident, and has practiced Internal Medicine in Jacksonville since 1988.  She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Levenson is married to Dr. Jeffrey Levenson, and is the proud mother of 3 children.  She speaks some Spanish and enjoys establishing long-term relationships with her patients.  When she's not working, Dr. Levenson prefers to be outdoors bicycling, swimming, backpacking or camping.  She also savors travel, spending time with her family and reading novels.

 

Gary A. Glicksteen, MD

A native of Ohio, Dr. Glicksteen attended Case Western Reserve University and is a graduate of the medical school at the University of Cincinnati.  He completed his residency at the Akron General Medical Center.

Dr. Glicksteen has been practicing medicine since 1986 and joined IMG in 2010.  He favors science fiction books and movies, as well as traveling, and he speaks some French.  Dr. Glicksteen also loves computers and even builds his own computer systems in his free time.

Amanda Cooper, M.D.

Born in the windy city of Chicago, Illinois and raised in Riverside, Illinois, Dr. Cooper stayed in Illinois for college, attending the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. She then went on to attend medical school at the University of Illinois in Chicago.

Dr. Cooper completed her residency at the University of Pennsylvania with special interests in women's health, diabetes and hypertension.

Dr. Cooper has been with IMG since September 2011 and has loved every minute of it. Her favorite part about her job is getting to know her patients. Dr. Cooper loves knowing she has made a significant difference in the patient's health and well being.

Dr. Cooper also speaks a limited amount of Spanish. In her spare time she enjoys playing with her children, reading, cooking, SCUBA diving, camping, hiking, swimming and biking.
